"Cheese in the Trap" is a South Korean television series that aired in 2016. The drama is an adaptation of a webtoon of the same name.
The series centers around **Hong Seol** (played by Kim Go-Eun), a hardworking college student who returns to school after a year-long break due to her family's financial struggles. She inadvertently gets on the wrong side of her senior, **Yoo Jung** (played by Park Hae-Jin), who is athletic, good-looking, academically successful, and seemingly kind.
However, Yoo Jung harbors a hidden dark side. He is manipulative and has a knack for making those who cross him suffer. When Seol discovers this, her life becomes increasingly difficult, leading her to take a break from school.
When she returns to school on a scholarship that was initially intended for Jung, he is unexpectedly nice to her and he asks her out. Despite her doubts about his true intentions, they begin a complicated relationship, further complicated by the arrival of Baek In-ho and his sister In-ha, childhood friends of Jung who have since had a falling out.
In the final episode, after an incident, Seol is hospitalized, luckily, she survives but Jung decides to end things because of what happened¹[1]. He takes him apart and they break up. Three years later, they run into each other in a crosswalk but don’t interact.
